About Us: History
The Nelson History
Since 1970, Nelson has been providing staffing solutions to
California businesses. From its first office in San Rafael, Nelson
expanded quickly, opening its second office in San Francisco a year later.
In the early 1980s, when economic and business conditions began
to shift, companies started to recognize the flexibility and cost-effectiveness
of a contingent workforce. It was then that Nelson made a fundamental change in
its business strategy, moving from executive search to temporary placement and
expanding its presence by opening offices from Monterey to Santa Rosa to
Sacramento. When the temporary placement services industry began to explode
later in the decade, Nelson was poised and ready to meet the burgeoning need of
companies seeking high-quality temporary employees.
Today, Nelson has clients located throughout the greater Bay
Area and Sacramento Valley, one of the most dynamic and diverse economic
corridors in the nation. Nelson clients include start-up, emerging and mature
companies,
